Descriptions of contributions
Below you will find descriptions of some of the contributions in Englisch language.
Keynote:
Assumptions or assertions?
A perspective on the evangelical aspects of the integral movement
- Dr. Susanne Cook-Greuter
Are you an evolutionary? If not, go away. Do you have a unique self and a soul purpose? If not, you are not integral enough. Will we integral folks save the world? If you doubt, you don’t belong. Do you have a certificate in AQAL theory? If not, you may not be an equal conversation partner in the integral dialogue. Many integral adherents especially in the USA are attracted to the evangelical (good news) aspects of the message. It’s all upward and onward. Instead of “me, me, me” the motto has become “we, we, we.” This talk will raise some fundamental concerns about the movement and its many facets, some healthy and vibrant, others less so.
Keynote:
A New Culture
The Future Beyond the Gender Divide
- Elizabeth Debold, PhD
Discovering a new way to understand who we are as men and women will be essential to evolving Western culture beyond postmodernity. Gender exists at the intersection of the individual and collective interior. In modernity, a polarity between the masculine and feminine divided the social world into two spheres of public and private life. Postmodernity’s obsession with gender liberation aims to disrupt that division without any vision for what could be beyond it. In this keynote address, Debold will explore how placing Eros, or the evolutionary impulse, at the heart of our understanding of cultural development illuminates who we have been as women and men, and shows the way beyond gender to a new cultural potential between us.
Workshop:
The Three Levels of Eros
Creating a Culture Beyond Gender
- Elizabeth Debold, PhD, Dr. Tom Steininger
In this workshop, Debold and Steininger will lead a philosophical and experiential exploration of Eros on three levels: as the sexual/reproductive force, as the creative impulse, and as the longing to evolve consciousness. These three levels, as discussed by Andrew Cohen, distinguish between different orders of creative engagement within the life process. Debold and Steininger will demonstrate how an attention to Eros at the highest level opens the space for new forms of intimacy and creativity that reveal a potential between us that lays the foundation for culture to evolve.
Workshop:
SIMPOL

an integral enactment of worldcentric consiousness as worldcentric, political activism
- John Bunzl, Dirk Weller
Wilber and others have pointed out that today’s world-centric problems won’t be solved with our present predominantly nation-centric mode of thinking and governance. If world-centric thinking is what’s needed to disclose real solutions, what does that thinking actually entail? What does it really mean? And how does it contrast with our present nation-centric mode of thinking? John Bunzl and Dirk Weller dialogue on this issue and invite participation from all who attend.
